The E.R.I. Group has announced six outstanding individuals from six provinces as this year’s winners of the Richard Miller Education Award.
The award to provide financial assistance and encouragement to individuals who wish to further their education or training, has been presented to applicants from E.R.I. member companies for the over 20 years.
Ms Ashton Aumen, Ms Talia Doll, Ms Halle Dyck, Ms Kirsten Tervelde, Mr. Gabriel Bélanger and Ms Erin Steeves were each presented with a $1,000 cheque to help further their education.
“We congratulate each of them on their success and wish them well in their chosen vocations,” says The E.R.I. Group. “We also applaud all of our applicants this year with furthering their training or education.
“The E.R.I. Group and the Richard Miller Scholarship Selection Committee are very pleased to be able to help recognize deserving individual members of the E.R.I. family who are motivated to improve their potential for personal fulfillment and make a meaningful contribution to society.”
Rick Miller Education Award Winners are pursuing a variety of education avenues:
Ashton Aumen of Duncan, British Columbia has completed four years of undergraduate studies at the University of Victoria, enrolled in the Recreation and Health Education program. Ashton will be completing her degree at the end of this year.
Talia Doll of Peace River, Alberta is attending a four-year program at the University of Victoria for her B.A. in Psychology. Talia plans to further her education with a Ph.D. in psychology, so that she can pursue her desired career in psychology.
Halle Dyck of East St. Paul, Manitoba is attending a five year program from the Price Faculty of Engineering at the University of Manitoba. Halle is hoping to make a career in civil engineering.
Kirsten Tervelde of Stouffville, Ontario is attending her first year of studies in the Arts and Social Sciences program at Carlton University. Kirsten is starting her post-secondary education towards her ultimate goal of becoming an Architect.
Gabriel Bélanger of Saint-Sulpice, Québec is attending a three year program at the Collège de Maisonneuve in Multimedia Integration Techniques. Gabriel plans to use the program in web design, animation and graphic design to help achieve his career as a web designer.
Erin Steeves of Shediac Cape, New Brunswick is entering her fourth year of a five year Doctor of Dental Surgery program in the Faculty of Dentistry at Dalhousie University. Erin’s ultimate goal is to pursue a career in Dentistry.
