Fix Network is proud to announce it has reached a major fundraising milestone, surpassing $1 million dollars raised since 2016 in support of Ronald McDonald House Canada.
The milestone was achieved during the 2026 Fix Network National Conference, held at the iconic Fairmont Banff Springs in Banff, Alberta, through the highly anticipated auction of a fully restored Firebird purchased last year from Mike Hall of the hit television series Rust Valley Restorers.
The vehicle came from Hall’s well-known “Field of Dreams” car collection and was transformed through a complete restoration led by Fix Network’s corporate team, franchise partners and valued vendor suppliers.
Since 2016, fundraising for Ronald McDonald House Canada has become a meaningful pillar of Fix Network’s ESG mission, through corporate and franchise partner-led events nationwide.
From children’s artwork being auctioned at regional meetings to industry golf tournaments and local shop fundraisers, the Fix Network community has continuously found creative and heartfelt ways to support Ronald McDonald House across Canada, enabling families to stay together and close to their child’s life-saving medical care far from home.
“Reaching this lifetime milestone for Ronald McDonald House Canada is an incredible achievement and a powerful reflection of the generosity and dedication of the entire Fix Network family,” said Steve Leal, President and CEO, Fix Network.
“Family is at the core of our corporate values, and we have tremendous respect for the vital work Ronald McDonald House Canada does to support families facing unimaginable challenges. Through initiatives like the Firebird restoration and auction, as well as grassroots fundraising at the shop level, our network has shown what is possible when we come together for families who need it most.”
The restored Firebird was one of the highlights of the 2026 National Conference and began as the vision of Daryll O’Keefe, Vice President, North America Strategic Business Development, who first conceived the idea during a breakfast conversation with Mike Hall.
Once the restoration was complete, O’Keefe drove the vehicle along the iconic Route 66, making his way to the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, where he met up with Hall to showcase the Firebird before it headed to the Fix Network Training Centre in Calgary ahead of the National Conference. The full restoration journey was captured in Good Will Driving, a YouTube series featured on the Fix Network Canada YouTube channel.
“The Firebird gave us an opportunity to bring our people, franchise partners and vendor suppliers together around a project that showcased their talent while supporting a cause that means so much to our network,” said Daryll O’Keefe. “Driving the completed vehicle along Route 66 to the SEMA Show was an unforgettable experience, but seeing it become part of our fundraising efforts for Ronald McDonald House Canada, and ultimately helping us reach the $1 million milestone, was truly the cherry on top.”
Fix Network extends special thanks to the franchise partners who played a key role in the restoration, as well as the vendor partners whose support helped make the project possible. Thanks to their expertise and generosity, the Firebird restoration became a special initiative with an impact far beyond the vehicle itself.
“When a child is critically sick or injured, having a well-cared for family by their side is everything,” said Leslie Hederson, Director of National Partnerships and Philanthropy, Ronald McDonald House Canada. |
“Thanks to the continued and growing support from the Fix Network community, families can stay together, surrounded by essential support and resources so they can focus on what matters most – their child’s health. We are deeply grateful for this partnership and the lasting difference it continues to make for families across the country.”
As Fix Network celebrates this milestone, the company remains committed to growing its impact and continuing to support families across the country.
