AARO launches TechX Summit, a new training initiative to help shops stay ahead

As vehicle technology becomes increasingly complex, the Automotive Aftermarket Repair Organization of Canada (AARO) is launching a new national training initiative designed to help independent repair facilities stay ahead of rapidly evolving automotive systems.

The inaugural AARO TechX Summit, taking place September 24–26, 2026, will bring together some of North America’s leading technical trainers for three days of advanced, in person education focused on diagnostics, electric vehicles, ADAS, thermal management, network communications, and other emerging vehicle technologies.

The Summit reflects AARO’s commitment to strengthening Canada’s independent repair sector through practical, high-level technical education that technicians can immediately apply in the shop.

“Today’s vehicles are changing faster than ever before,” said Patty Kettles, Executive Director of AARO. “Independent repair shops must continually invest in technical training to remain competitive. TechX Summit was created to provide technicians, shop owners and service professionals with direct access to industry-leading instructors and the latest  diagnostic knowledge.”

The TechX Summit offers attendees the opportunity to dive deeply into today’s most challenging repair topics while interacting directly with nationally recognized trainers.

The event is expected to attract technicians, shop owners, apprentices, service advisors, and educators from across Canada.

The Summit also represents another milestone in AARO’s recent transition to the Automotive Aftermarket Repair Organization of Canada, expanding the association’s national mandate to provide advocacy, education, and professional development opportunities for independent automotive repair businesses across the country.

“Our vision is to make TechX Summit one of Canada’s premier annual technical training events,” added Kettles. “This is just the beginning. We intend to continue expanding the program each year to ensure Canadian technicians have access to world-class education right here at home.”

Registration is now open, with discounted bundle pricing available.
