AAPEX 2024 Announces Joe’s Garage Training Schedule

AAPEX 2024 will offer some of the industry’s best technical and business management training in Joe’s Garage, with leading instructors ready to equip shop owners, service advisors and technicians with essential skills to thrive in the ever changing automotive aftermarket industry. AAPEX will be held Tuesday, Nov. 5 through Thursday, Nov. 7, at The Venetian Expo and Caesars Forum in Las Vegas. 

Technical training topics will include Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) calibration, high voltage vehicle technology, advanced driveability, diagnosing turbo problems, ultrasonic diagnostics and fixing the no start.  

Business management sessions will include driving shop profit through shop production, revolutionizing service advising, what Gen Y and Z are looking for in the workplace, building a dream team and designing recession resilient SOPs.

Many of the industry’s top trainers will lead the training, including Eric Ziegler, EZ Diagnostic Solutions Inc.; Greg Bunch, Transformers Institute and Aspen Auto Clinic; Rich Falco Jr., Diag on Demand; Rick White, 180BIZ;  Cecil Bullard, The Institute for Automotive Business Excellence; Bill Haas and Sara Fraser, Haas Performance Consulting; Seth Thorson, EV Tech LLC; Keith Perkins, L1 Automotive Training; Isaac Rodell, Auto Rescue Tools; and Robert Kenney, Instructor, Hudson Valley Community College.

AAPEX involved a panel of shop owners to review more than 400 submissions and select beginner, intermediate and advanced-level training in Joe’s Garage that would best prepare service professionals to meet the challenges and opportunities of today and tomorrow. I

n addition, Joe’s Garage will feature LIVE Car Training with sessions including Everything EV, Tesla drivetrain problem solving, plus an overview of Tesla Information Resources and factory scan tools. New this year, WorldPac/WTI will offer 12 training sessions, including Audi and VW diagnostic strategies, Mercedes-Benz diagnostics and how to become an exceptional leader. 

This year, many training topics align with ASE Certification tests, and therefore, will be helpful in preparing for the certifications noted in session descriptions. Sessions range in length from one to four hours depending on the topic.

The fee per session is $150 or attendees may select the special AAPEX Seminar Package, which includes five training sessions of their choice, for $400. For more information, visit the Training Schedule

Service professionals may sign up for training when registering for AAPEX. Attendees who have already registered should log in to their registration to add the training. 

Joe’s Garage is an entire floor of The Venetian Expo dedicated to meeting the needs of service and repair professionals. In addition to four training theaters, attendees will see the one-of-a-kind, built-out shop equipped with 10 bays, lifts and running vehicles for hands-on learning and tool and equipment demos.

It will also include ATRA Powertrain Expo training, plus special sections for tire servicing, diagnostics/telematics/shop management solutions, tools and equipment, transmission suppliers and the Electric Vehicle Experience.
