A Kal Tire location in Calgary, Alta., has become the first business to employ a fully automated, robotic tire changing system from PitPro.

The deployment is the first production PitPro system in the field and represents that company’s transition from pilot programs to production following the system’s public unveiling in June 2025.

The PitPro system fits within a single service bay and is designed for Class 3 and smaller vehicles. Once a vehicle drives onto the platform, two coordinated gantries service all four wheel positions simultaneously, completing a four-tire swap in under 15 minutes.

By automating one of the most physically demanding and injury-prone tasks in vehicle maintenance, the system delivers consistent service quality while reducing strain and injury risk for technicians.

The Calgary installation is the first in PitPro’s production rollout, with additional systems scheduled for other customer sites this fall.
